The Gentlemen

A scheming reporter brings an imaginative tale to the attention of a British drug lord in an attempt to make a profit off the story...one way or another.

An amusing and entertaining story told with eye candy and style. This was very fun in spite of the slow start. The cast was superb and all did a spectacular job not only with the material but with the accents as well.

*** 1/2 Must See

Rated R (for strong language throughout, sexual references and drug content)

Jojo Rabbit

A young nationalist devout to the Nazi cause deals with childhood angst and his mother with the help of his imaginary friend...Adolf Hitler.

This is easily one of the best movies of the year. The seriously dark and tragic reality of WWII seen satirically through the blindly innocent albeit misdirected eyes of a child, is heart warming and heart wrenching all at the same time.

Rated PG-13 (for violence, sexual innuendo, language and thematic material)

1917

Two young soldiers in the British army are given impossible orders to deliver a message in hopes of preventing a massacre of their own troops whom are walking into a trap.

This World War I historical drama is stunning.

Like a Boss

Mia and Mel own their own cosmetics company but are barely keeping their heads above water as they drown in debt. When an industry titan offers to payoff their debt the return is more than they bargained for.

Raunchy gal-pal comedy that more than comes up short in the plot. Horrifically predictable and beyond cliche' stereotyped characters this leaves much to be desired.

* 1/2 Don't pay for it - watch it on network television - the commercial breaks will help.

Rated R (for language, sexual content, drug use and vulgar humor)

Last Christmas

A floundering millennial works as an elf in a Christmas shop year round. When she meets Tom her world starts looking up.

Meh. Like most romcoms this was cheesy, corny, foolish and predictable. Unlike most, this was a love letter to George Michael and Wham!

** Rentable

Rated PG-13 (for language and innuendo)

Spies in Disguise

Super spy, Lance Sterling has the world at his fingertips until he is framed and his agency turns on him. With no other options he seeks out Walter, a quirky scientist with a thing for birds.

This was weak...and soooo long. The running time is an hour and forty five minutes and it felt like an eternity. The plot is extremely predictable and has very few truly comedic moments. Small children will absolutely lose interest as will adults like myself with the attention span of a four year old.

*1/2 Maybe you can Netflix it...oh wait, it is a Fox movie...
Disney+ it.

Rated PG (for violence and rude humor)

Ford vs. Ferrari

A business deal between Henry Ford II and Enzo Ferrari goes wrong. In an attempt to avenge his pride, Ford spends over $25 million and thousands of man hours in an attempt to beat Ferrari in the world's most prestigious car race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Fun and extremely interesting, the film is well paced and the story quite tight, considering the two hour and thirty two minutes of running time (well over three hours if you include the previews). Definitely worth the watch.

***1/2 Must See

Rated PG-13 (for language and thematic elements)
